So this is Christmas...and what have we done?

This year I was truly impressed by what friends and family have done to show love to others. I was also overcome by the love that was shown to my family and friends. It's been a rough year for so many people I know, and yet they made it through. I can only wish them continued strength in the year to come, and continued hope that things will get better. To all my friends and family, I love you dearly and look forward to spending the next year surrounded by your love. I welcome the opportunity to show my children what the true meaning of Christmas is and that it should last throughout the year. Merry Christmas everyone, and Happy New Year!

Where did the time go?

I realized November flashed by without my having updated our blog, so here's a quick update.

During November, Baxter won an award for Best in Show at the Woods Cross Elementary reflections contest! Congratulations, Baxter.

Zander was excited to have his Aunt Audra instruct his school class on ASL. Thanks, Audra, you made him feel special!

Syler enjoyed his first taste of food other than formula, rice cereal, or licks from Mommy's cookies. He ate sweet potatoes in honor of Thanksgiving--actually on this wonderful day of thanks!

As usual, we celebrated Thanksgiving at Granny Goon's. We can't get enough of her delicious Thanksgiving spread. Thanks for letting us grace your table, Granny Goon!

I'll take this chance to say thanks to all of my family including my family-in-law. We appreciate the love a support we get from all of you. Thanks also to our friends for being an important part of our lives. God bless!

Syler's First Haircut!

Today, after trying to tame the wilds of Syler's hair, I decided it was time to cut it. He was much more interested in the scissors than the glow worm Baxter was enticing him with. I managed to trim the top and around the ears without too much fuss, but by then he was finished. Time for a nap!

It's the First Snowfall of the Winter!

How exciting!
The boys enjoyed the weather by grabbing their sleds and sledding down the slide. They also built a snowman together. (I should probably invest in some weather appropriate clothing.)

Syler had the chance to hold his first snowball!! The cold didn't seem to phase him. Next step....Snow Angels!

Syler's Big Day

On Sunday, September 28th, we had Syler blessed.

What a big day for this little lad. Syler showed his appreciation to his Uncle Rob for blessing him with perfect behavior. His grandfathers and other uncles participated in the experience.

Almost all his aunts and uncles, many cousins, and a few close friends came to share this special time. We had refreshments on our back lawn since the weather was so nice--and our families are so large. Syler enjoyed all the attention.

Thanks to everyone for spending time with us and helping with the refreshments!

A special thanks to Rob for his important role on this momentous occasion.

Introducing...The Goble Family

What's in a name?

In my opinion, a lot. The name of our blog is a friendly nod to all those people that can't pronounce our last name.

No, it is not Gobble!!

I'd like you to meet, in order from left to right, Trulee, Zander, Spencer, Baxter, and Syler Goble. Here we are the night we brought Syler home from the hospital. (That's right, I'm not normally this...encompassing.)
